OLD GRAIN JENEVER (GIN) DISTILLERY

- “The origin of the brand dates back to 1921, when Gerard Smeets started a trading business in liqueurs, jenevers, and tobacco products in Hasselt. In 1931, the brand became known as “Extra Gebroeders Smeets Stokers Hasselt.”
- After the Second World War, Gerard Smeets, encouraged by his son Louis, built a modern grain jenever distillery with contemporary equipment in Raamstraat in 1947. In 1950, the company officially received its distilling license.
- Locations and heritage traces
