CLARISSEN NUNS’ CONVENT

- CLARISSEN NUNS’ CONVENT
- The Clarissen Convent on Guffenslaan was founded in 1899 by the Clarissen-Coletinen nuns. The neo-Gothic chapel followed in 1902. The nuns lived in seclusion and were known for their prayers for good weather. In 2004, the last nuns left the convent.
- The complex was protected and repurposed as Clarenhof, a modern care campus with serviced apartments. The chapel was preserved and renovated, featuring a cobalt-blue vaulted ceiling painted by artist Nick Ervinck.
