• The Refugiehuis on Maastrichterstraat is a historic building dating back to 1542, originally serving as a refuge for the nuns of Herkenrode Abbey. Together with the Witte Kazerne, it now forms a modern university complex for UHasselt, housing the rectorate, financial services, and the Institute for Mobility (IMOB). During the renovation, the historic character was preserved while adapting the building for modern functions.
