OLD HALF-TIMBERED BUILDINGS

- One of the old half-timbered buildings is “het Sweert”.
- Het Sweert is a historic corner house at Grote Markt 3 in Hasselt, first mentioned as an inn in 1426 and rebuilt in 1659. The striking building features a timber-framed façade, a painted stone plinth, and stained-glass windows.
- After restorations in 1923 and 1989-1991, it now houses Apotheek Het Sweert (The Sweert Pharmacy). Recognized as immovable heritage, it is a fine example of the rich Mosan half-timbered architecture.
