SINT-QUINTINUS KATHEDRAL

- SINT-QUINTINUS CATHEDRAL
- The Sint-Quintinus Cathedral in the heart of Hasselt has been the main church of the diocese since 1967. Its origins date back to the 8th century, but the current church evolved from a Romanesque tower (12th century) into a Gothic building (14th–15th century).
- Inside, you can find beautiful murals, stained glass windows, and artworks, including pieces from the Abbey of Herkenrode. The 62-meter tower houses a carillon museum and offers panoramic views of the city.
- In 2024, the tower underwent a thorough restoration, including the reinstallation of the gilded rooster. This ensures that the cathedral remains not only a religious landmark but also a cultural icon of Hasselt.
