• KING ALBERT I MEMORIAL
• The memorial for King Albert I in Hasselt was installed in 1984 on the Grote Markt (now on Koning Albertstraat) to mark the 50th anniversary of his death.
• It is a commemorative plaque that not only honors the king, but also remembers the fallen soldiers of the world wars. During the redevelopment of the Grote Markt, the plaque was temporarily removed and later reinstalled. Every year around February 17 (the death date of Albert I), flowers are laid in remembrance.
