- The artwork is a giant pair of glasses made of stainless steel, with a shiny silver finish. The glasses symbolize three stages of consciousness and personal development:
- Zien (Seeing): the ability to observe, recognize, and understand.
- Zen: the state of transcendence, openness to new perspectives, and finding direction.
- Zijn (Being): the state of acknowledgment, vigilance, progress, and patience.
- These stages represent a journey from connection with the earth to the possibility of transcending it, in search of realizing one’s own dreams. The sculpture expresses a contrast between being grounded (the pedestal) and the potential to rise above the earth.
