• THE THREE BIRDS
• The bronze sculpture “Three Birds in Full Flight” is located on Thonissenlaan, near Hasselt station. Each bird is approximately two meters long, symbolizing the friendship between Hasselt (Belgium) and its sister cities Itami (Japan) and Foshan (China).
• Designed by Robert Vandereycken and installed in 1998, it is one of the few sculptures in the world that exists in exactly the same form in three different cities, making it a unique symbol of international friendship.
